Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast awarded a $264 million contract to South Carolina-based HITT Contracting on Aug. 18 to construct a nuclear power training simulation facility expansion at Joint Base (JB) Lindsey Graham in Charleston. The project directly supports the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and the Nuclear Power Training Unit, which train Navy officers and enlisted sailors to safely operate, maintain, and supervise shipboard nuclear propulsion plants for the nation’s submarine and aircraft carrier fleets.
